Organising a Conference or Trade Show in Cologne?
Conference and Trade Show Venues in Cologne
Cologne is one of Germany’s most important destinations for international trade shows, conferences and corporate events. Located in the heart of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, the city attracts international exhibitors, business professionals and conference delegates from around the world.
From major exhibition grounds and modern congress centres to historic event venues and established conference hotels, Cologne offers a wide range of facilities for professional gatherings of different sizes and formats.
Below are some of the venues I recommend if you are organising a conference, trade show or corporate event in Cologne:
Koelnmesse
Koelnmesse is one of Europe’s leading exhibition centres and the heart of Cologne’s international trade show industry. The extensive exhibition grounds in the Deutz district host major industry events, including gamescom, Anuga, DMEXCO, ISM and ORGATEC.
With numerous exhibition halls, conference facilities and supporting event spaces, Koelnmesse is particularly well suited to large international trade shows, industry exhibitions, professional congresses and events combining exhibition stands with conference programmes.
Its central location and excellent transport connections make it an important destination for international exhibitors and business visitors.
Confex – Koelnmesse
Opened in 2024, Confex is Cologne’s newest major conference and exhibition centre, located directly within the Koelnmesse complex.
The modern building combines a large, flexible event hall with 22 conference rooms, extensive foyer areas and outdoor event spaces. Its contemporary design and adaptable layout make it particularly suitable for international congresses, multi-track conferences, corporate conventions and hybrid events.
With direct access to the surrounding exhibition infrastructure, Confex also provides opportunities for events combining conferences, presentations and exhibition activities.

The Congress-Centrum facilities at Koelnmesse provide dedicated spaces for conferences, congresses and professional gatherings alongside the city’s major exhibition halls.
The Congress-Centrum North and Congress-Centrum East offer auditoriums, conference rooms and flexible meeting facilities suitable for events of different sizes.
Their integration with the wider Koelnmesse complex makes them particularly convenient for international trade shows with accompanying conference programmes, industry meetings and professional conventions.

The venue is particularly attractive for organisations looking for a less traditional environment with substantial space for presentations, networking and creative event concepts.
