Athens is an established destination for international conferences, congresses, trade shows and corporate events, offering everything from large-scale exhibition and conference centres to historic landmarks, contemporary cultural spaces and five-star conference hotels.
The city’s diverse event infrastructure makes it suitable for both major international gatherings and smaller executive meetings, brand events and corporate functions.
Below I collected some of the venues I recommend if you are organising a conference, trade show or corporate event in Athens:
Metropolitan Expo
Located next to Athens International Airport, Metropolitan Expo is one of the largest and most important exhibition and event venues in Greece. Its four large exhibition halls are complemented by conference facilities, meeting rooms and extensive supporting areas.
The venue is particularly well suited to large trade shows, exhibitions, congresses and international corporate events where substantial exhibition space and efficient logistics are essential.
Megaron Athens International Conference Centre
Located in central Athens, Megaron is one of the city’s leading venues for international conferences and congresses. The complex offers major auditoriums, conference suites, breakout rooms and extensive foyer and exhibition areas.
Its combination of large auditoriums and smaller meeting spaces makes it particularly suitable for multi-track conferences, congresses and complex international business events.
Zappeion Megaron
One of Athens’ most distinctive historic event venues, Zappeion Megaron sits beside the National Garden in the heart of the city. The neoclassical building provides an impressive setting for conferences, exhibitions and corporate functions, centred around its characteristic circular atrium.
Its architecture and central location make it particularly suitable for events that call for a prestigious and characterful setting.
Technopolis City of Athens
Set within the former Athens gasworks in the Gazi district, Technopolis City of Athens offers a completely different atmosphere from the city’s traditional conference centres.
Its combination of industrial buildings and outdoor spaces makes it an interesting choice for corporate events, presentations, exhibitions, brand activations and product launches.
Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center is one of Athens’ most recognisable contemporary cultural landmarks. Designed by Renzo Piano, the complex combines striking modern architecture with auditoriums and a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces.
It provides a distinctive setting for conferences, presentations, corporate events and high-profile international gatherings where the venue itself forms an important part of the experience.
InterContinental Athenaeum Athens
InterContinental Athenaeum Athens is one of the city’s strongest hotel options for large conferences and corporate events, with extensive meeting facilities and flexible function spaces.
Its event infrastructure can accommodate everything from executive meetings and conferences to gala dinners and larger corporate gatherings, while allowing international delegates to stay and meet within the same property.
